SCPP Project
Project Goal
To protect the rights of stateless children and their families as provided under Thai law, and, where possible, to assist in obtaining legal status for at least 5,000 children and their families in 20 Districts located in 5 Northern provinces of Thailand for a period of 3 years.
Project Objectives
1. Accurate data about the numbers of stateless persons is recorded in the 20 target districts in the 5 target provinces in Northern Thailand. Agencies, staff, and procedures needed to obtain citizenship and residency status are identified, outlined, and made accessible to the target population.
2. Stateless children and their families’ rights which are guaranteed under Thai law are enabled and protected, especially their rights to education and health care.
3. Advocacy for the rights of stateless persons in Thailand among the Thai government agencies, ASEAN members, and world community lead to clear and practical policies used to administer and protect the rights of the target group.
